Smart Skin

As Spring Break 2K14 quickly approaches, many beauties are thinking about crop tops and bikini bods, in preparation for a sun bound adventure. A brainy beauty should also be thinking about her skin while prepping for Cabo (and year-round, actually)!

SPF is a MUST MUST MUST my friends! Not go all Mommy on you, but this year's hot tan could mean some serious skin damage (or worse!) a few years from now, so lather up. Okay, lecture over.

What I'm excited about is Curel's Intensive Healing Cream, a fragrance free, immediate healing relief cream! This advanced ceramide therapy (aka: heaven in a jar) is for daily use and sensitive skin, so lather up before you strip down and after each long day, whether it is poolside or office bound. Think of this goo as a tall, ice cold drink of water for your thirsty skin. So, drink up and be safe, Spring Breakers!

Maybe Melvita

Every time I try a new body butter, lotion or balm I am crossing my fingers that I have found The One. That perfect concoction that smells like heaven, sinks in like nobody's business and  finally ends my flaky Michigan winter legs.

Melvita's APICOSMA Body Ultra-Nourishing Body Balm almost meets this criteria. The organic, patented mixture of three honeys- Thyme, Acacia and Orange Blossom- has a nice thick, creamy texture that works in quickly and and leaves skin feeling soft.  After a few days of continued use I conducted my winter skin black tights test to see how much dry leg powder flakies were left on the tights once taking them off. Sure, it's a tad gross, but I have mad dry skin! The results were much improved from my usual lotion, but not jaw-droppingly better. Also, I'm not a fan of the Orange Blossom scent. Maybe because it's a bit too summery for the middle of winter? With it's three honey mix I was hoping for something more soothing and warm.

Overall this is definitely a quality body balm that I would recommend to someone who enjoys a citrus scented beauty product. As for me, I'm still holding out for The One.

Atopalm Moisturizing Facial Cleansing Foam

This is exactly as it's described-lush. Great for dry and sensitive skin, this won't leave yours tight and yearning for moisturizer like a lot of cleansers do to my sensitive skin. One pump of this foamy goodness and you're all set. Liiiike!

Yes to Cucumbers Daily Calming Moisturizer

I say "Yes!" to cucumbers.
I say "Yes!" to a 97% natural product.
I say "Yes!" to hypoallergenic formulas.
I say "Yes!" to to being low-maintenance and using organic beauty gems!

Unfortunately, I say "No" to Yes to's cucumbers Soothing Daily Calming Moisturizer.

I found the scent of this product to be a tad too strong and air-freshener-like, especially considering it's natural composition. I also found this moisturizer to be difficult to apply and my skin just did not want to absorb it!

So, "Yes, yes, yes!" to all that this brand stands for, but a "No thank you" to Yes to cucumbers moisturizer.
