Pure BIOBLISS

Like, OMG! It's the "new anti-aging advancement in skin care!"

Hallelujah! Woot woot! Yeeeeeee-haw! Wheeeeeeee!

I mean, come on- every new anti-aging product/system/treatment/etc makes this claim. And as mentioned in previous posts, I am a, shall we say, maturing woman (what? 30 is no 19 people!) and therefore increasingly down with experimenting with the latest wrinkle preventing lotions and potions. But I am also increasingly realizing that most all include fantastic, fancy ingredients that will indeed improve the look and feel of skin long term. So when it comes down to it, you really just have to find something that you love and that you feel works for you. Perhaps that something will be BIOBLISS.

The BIOBLISS System offers a range of products in order to prepare skin and extend the anti-aging effectiveness of its treatments:

Clean: This mild and refreshing cleanser includes calming cucumber extract, Aloe Vera and skin protecting antioxidant Vitamin E. Plus, it smells awesome and left my face feeling super clean.

Srub: I had no idea this was even an exfoliating scrub until after I used it (labels?! who needs em'!?) because it was so extremely gentle. Once I read the packaging (those blasted labels again!), I discovered that it's derived from coconut, olive, macadamia nut, sunflower and avocado. Nothing abrasive about any of those!

Lock It In Serum: This was my least fave of the bunch. Personally, it smelled funny and had a weird texture. And it's specially matched to the Anti-Wrinkle Treatment Patch, of which I did not receive a sample. HARRUMPH! (But my skin did feel super soft after using it.)

Hydrate Lotion: My oh my did my face feel soft and supple after using this! La-la-la-loved! I did feel though that it is better suited to fall/winter months, as it was a bit thick for the current hot and humid Michigan climate. At $60 a pop it's an investment, but definitely a splurge-worthy pick!

Skinnygirl Face & Body: Vitamin C Face Scrub

Although I cringed at the logo, I tried this cranberry-smelling face scrub.

As a face scrub, I did not like it. Left some serious residue (intense moisturizers), the scrubby-bits were too rough...

As a body scrub, however, this ROCKS.

Smells good without being perfume-y, moisturizes, exfoliates.
Made my legs, arms, and feet feel smooth and pampered.

I will buy more for this winter to keep my skin happy.

Simple Moisturizing Facial Wash and Smoothing Scrub

Once a week I use the smoothing Facial Scrub to get rid of dry skin. After rinsing, my skin is so smooth. The rice granules are tiny which is preferable from everything I have read because bigger granules in scrubs can actually scrape the skin. The scent includes just a hint of menthol.
I follow the scrub with the Facial Wash. It lathers a smidge and soothes my extremely dry skin.
Both are perfume and dye free-essential for my easily irritated sensitive skin.
Love this combo especially with chilly temperatures ahead.

I didn't have enough of the scrub to get a good feel for it.

Great smell for both!

Bath and Body Works-Aromatherapy Sugar Scrub

Moved here:
My beautiful blogger friend pawned this sugar scrub product off on me because it was making her sneeze. I was happy to help her out (and indulge myself as well!), and took the Jasmine and Vanilla Sugar Scrub home to escape into exfoliation bliss....

Not an hour after having the little tub of scrub in my home, my husband and I both had killer headaches from the strong scent. I did make it to the tub with the stuff, but could not even bare to keep it. Perhaps my nose is sensitive, but my sneezy friend and our aching heads lead me to believe that this is just an over-perfumed product.

The exfoliation factor was fine-it felt nice on my skin, but because of the overpowering scent, I ended up showering again, not wanting my skin to smell of it. Any benefits from this scrub are definitely cancelled out by it's stench. Not so therapeutic afterall.

Noodle & Boo: Honey Child Sugar Mama scrub & soap

Noodle & Boo, in addition to making superior products, sets aside "a significant amount" of their profits for children's charities.

The Glowology products are made for sensitive skin, and the Honey Child line is part of Glowology.

Sugar Mama Scrub-- Good scrub, but doesn't remove your entire epidermis! Barely scented, leaves your skin super-soft. Makes my legs like butta!

Sugar Mama Soap-- Excellent lathering, not drying. Leaves you clean, but with moisture levels intact! Not strongly scented, just smells like honey.

All the products are beautifully packaged, will make beautiful gifts--& look great in your bathroom!

Excellent, gentle scrub.
Didn't feel like using it was punishment, but left skin soft & glowy!
Even de-scaled my elbows.
The Lime smell is outstanding.
Real lime, not overpowering.

Bring Hawaii into your shower this winter!

I have fallen in love with a new product! Winter always makes my skin dry and pasty. If you hate winter skin as much as I do, you should try Ola Hawaii Cane Sugar Scrub. http://www.hawaiianbodyproducts.com/. You feel a difference instantly after using it. It not only exfoliates your skin, but moisturizes all day as well. It smells wonderful and transforms your shower into a spa when you apply it! I actually love the consistency of it. It uses sugar cane, organic lehua honey, tropical oils, and nut butters. A must try! I am getting very sad that mine is almost gone, but I can't shower without it now!

Pangea Organics

Pangea Organics reviews from Emily:

-Face wash: Not sure it is right for my skin type, doesn't feel as squeaky clean as I'd like.

-Face Scrub: Works pretty well, kind of chunky. I feel like scrubs work better if the scrubbers are smaller. Smells kind of funny, very "natural".

-Toner: Not sure I get the concept of a spray toner. I close my eyes and spray, and don't get my face. If I do, it feels weird. This one smells ok.

-Face Lotion: Smells kind of funny too, but is a good consistency and moisturizes well.

Intellegent Aesthetics: Balance Kit & Exfoliating Oatmeal Cleanser

Intellegent Aesthetics: Truth Based Skin Care
Balance Kit & Exfoliating Oatmeal Cleanser
I love the packaging, very minimal & straight-forward. Print can be too small, but that's life. Loving the tagline, "the end of false hope." After using the line for a week, I did notice a drastic reduction in the blackhead population of my nose, which is nice. The rest of my face revolted, however, and some not-so-pretty spots appeared around my temples & forehead. My oil production system does NOT like attempts at control & fights. Fights dirty, too. The Exfoliating Oatmeal Cleanser smelled nice. The creamy base is good, but the scrubbing bits were on the huge side. I am all about micro-scrubbers, and these were full-on granules. I know that my skin has a tendency to freak out, but I hurt after this. My face felt raw. Maybe this is really exfoliating? Maybe I have delicate skin? My dad (hey, real men exfoliate) is very happy with this, as he thinks micro-bead scrubbers are girly. He did not use the word "girly," but that it my best translation of the face he made. Refreshing Pore Cleanser- LEMONS! This is a fairly good cleanser. Salicylic Acid, antioxidants, rinses well. Not too harsh. Oil Control Skin Primer-- Yes, I am a product junkie who does not understand toner. Having come of age in the sea-breeze & oxy pad era, I think of toners as harsh & semi-evil. Toners that don't make your fingertips peel, I really don't get. So, you wash your face, then you put stuff on it, & that makes it cleaner? Yeah, I don't buy it. It is, however, grossly satisfying to see dirt on a cotton ball-- much like seeing the biore strip post-peel. This is a little Pledge-y smelling, yellow water. AM/PM Mattifying Complex-- This was cleanly lemony, and does help the clearing process. It has very little to recommend it to those of us who fear wrinkles, except the pomegranate extract. This was a no-harm/no-foul product for me. The line also includes the Intensive Oil Balancing Treatment, but it has chamomile, so I didn't try it (allergic). I don't know why, but this entire line has Ricinus Communis Seed Extract. That's Castor oil. Why? All told, this is a well developed line. I have come to the conclusion that it is meant for younger &/or less mercurial skin than mine. I am going to have my nieces try it, I do not doubt that it will work well for them.
