It's finally somewhat warm and somewhat sunny! Sandals and beach trips are surely but a few short weeks away!
I don't know about you, but when the weather changes, my makeup game also gets antsy. And this season, I am relying on some tangerine dreams, an industry favorite and one amazing new kid on the beauty block.
Sephora Orange Pop blush: This looks a little bright in the pot, but once applied, gives a light, flattering, long lasting pop to cheeks. I was relying on rosy pink for so long and this provides a much needed, yet still natural jolt.
Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer in Girls Just Want to Have Fun: I saw this color and had to have it. It's punchy, it's fun and it lasts. Lippmann's colors always go on smooth, opaque and are never clumpy. DEFINITELY worth the higher price tag!
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat: Loved by models, celebs, editors and makeup artists everywhere, this luminizing pen "brings light and radiance to the skin." I have been without this gem for some time- hey, it's a bit difficult to justify the price tag- but I forgot how worth it it is. You really can SEE the difference. I was feeling and looking a bit tired (pregnancy problems!) and just a little swipe under the eyes after concealer changes the game. I even had a co-worker comment on how fresh I looked! Money well spent if you ask me.
Smashbox Full Exposure Waterproof Mascara: This new mascara offering is the JAM. I wasn't used to such a large brush, but once I figured out how to work with it (Tilt head all the way back! Start with the tip!), I loved the long, non clumpy, dramatic lashes it left me. Plus, it didn't even smear an inch after a good cry (again, pregnancy problems!). My new summer lash staple indeed.

SEPHORA and Pantone's 2013 Color of the Year beauty collection features the color of positive energy, possibility, power, and nature-you simply must try Pantone's line up of electric, gemstone green. Say hello, shake the hand of, kiss the lips of, and cop a feel of Pantone Emerald!
This Emerald collection sold Exclusively at SEPHORA features glitter dust, eye liner, mascara, and eye shadow in this drool-worthy hue, as well as lip color and blush in complementary tones.
Having recently sampled a taste of this line, sampling my new favorite color in Color Charged Graphic Nail Lacquer, I am now completely obsessed with Pantone's Emerald collection and may need to check myself into product rehab, or at least attend a few product junky anonymous meetings (while rocking this versatile, elegant shade from SEPHORA, of course!).

SUMMER ESSENTIALS- Part I.
Every year, I get myself (& my sister, & Jill) the Sephora Sun Safety kit.
Great products, and the travel-friendly sizes are wonderful!
My favorite repeat appearance: Peter Thomas Roth Max Sheer All Day Defense Lotion SPF 30. Light, easily applied, no weird smell.
My favorite new product (so far): Kate Somerville Protect SPF 55 Serum Sunscreen. Love serums, my skin was especially fond of this one! A whole bunch of anti-oxidants, which is the new must-have for the UVA/UVB fighting.
I supplement with my daily Aveeno CONTINUOUS PROTECTION Sunblock Lotion with SPF 55. It makes me feel protected! Check out the website for all sorts of coolness.
When I'm back inside, I like to cool off with a moisturizing spray: Votre Vu On Holiday Huiler Pour Le Corps during the day, keeps me soft & beachy-feeling; Cures Skin Repair Body Mist at night, the light lavender scent helps me sleep.
To stave off dehydration, try a Twist (I like West Indies Lime) or SmartWater (electrolytes are super important).

Sephora Mini Travel Brush Set
I love Sephora.
I really do.
I have never been unsatisfied with any other purchase.
This one, however, sucked.
The set comes in a metallic-teal travel case, 5 brushes (one face, 4 eyes).
It would have been easier just to throw random brush hairs all over-- my face, the counter, the floor... I found a couple inside a pair of shoes, & not the ones I was wearing.
I have looked on the Sephora site & not found the set, so I am hoping they discontinued.
Has anyone else had any trouble with Sephora brushes???
