Upgrade Your Beauty Tools with UBU

Every gal needs a few helpful utensils for make-up application or the grooming process in general. Mostly, those options are limited to drab looking sponges and sterile metals.

Well, no more!

UBU, Urban Beauty United, is finally here, bringing bold colors and an exciting edge to all your beauty accessories.

Boom Boom Blink Fanning Eyelash Curler: This everyday essential (seriously, if you do one thing in the morning, curl your lashes!) puts a literal new spin on your old standby. Offering a wider, edge-free rim, it claims to capture more lashes with each curl. As excited as I was to see a tangible difference in my lashes, I definitely pinched my lids in the process. I am much more used to a traditional eyelash curler shape, but with a little practice (and hopefully not too much more pain), this hot pink and orange pick could really be a game-changer. Plus, it comes with two replacement pads so you don't have to put up with yucky mascara build up. Woot!
If you look closely, you'll see the UBU curler on the bottom has a more shallow curve than the silver curler above it.

Blender Baby Foundation Sponge: Meant to rival the ever-popular Beauty Blender, I hands-down prefer this shapelier model. It's easier to grasp and has a great smooth texture. I now use it daily to soften any foundation lines around my nose and jawline.

Wonder Wheel Foundation Sponge Circle: Use these colorful eight triangular shaped sponges to apply your liquid and powder foundations. Much like their Blender Baby relative, they're latex-free and designed to really last with proper care.

Minnie Me's Mini Tweezer Set: Featuring all tips, including slant, flat, combo and point, these helpers are perfect for throwing in your to-go make-up bag. I mean, how many times have you been studying your face while washing your hands in the work bathroom only to realize you have a totally out there eyebrow hair you somehow missed the last five times you tweezed?

Trimming Twins Eyebrow Razors: Ok, these scared me a bit. I didn't want to end up with a bald spot or gash. But as long as you go slow, gentle and steady, it really works for cleaning up hairs in between, over and under brows.

Urban Beauty United products range from $2.99-$16.99 and can be purchased on Amazon.com

BB All You Can BB

  1. Blemish Balm? Blemish Base? Beauty Balm? Whatever your BB Cream, they are out there, everywhere, just waiting for you. This week, I gave Lumene, Bright Now Vitamin C, BB Serum a go.

This specific serum does not have a tint as many other BB Creams do, which I ended up really liking! I also loved how well this cream plays with others-it blended in with my average day routine perfectly! I've run into some of these creams that are not so workable with other moisturizers and/or concealers. Lumene's version also created this beautiful matte effect and I really did notice a bit of brightening to my skin over a few days.

A simple description for such a simply elegant product: Light, bright, lovely and easy.

Garden Party

Girly usually ain't my thang, but I am swooning for the following bloomingly femme beauty products:

Thymes Kimono Rose Whipped Body Cream: You may remember that while I liked this scent in it's rollerball and spray form, it didn't knock my socks off. Well I am most definitely changing my tune these days! Between the chic pot, the lusciously rich and hydrating lotion and the light scent it leaves on my skin, I am quite honestly obsessed. My NIVEA has been permanently relegated to the back of my bathroom cupboards.
$30 at thymes.com

The Soap and Paper Factory Green Tea Solid Perfume: I really feel like there isn't enough kudos given to adorable packaging. When done right, a product and it's packaging can truly echo something that's special to you. This lovely offering reminds me of my nana- in the chicest way of course! She was a true lady, always having her hair done and elegant brushes and perfumes at the ready. While the packaging's a fun throwback, the product is all for the modern woman looking for an awesomely portable, crisp, fun scent.
$18 at soapandpaperfactory.com

Mally Beauty High Shine Liquid Lipstick in Tender Rose: A sweet pink inflected with subtle gold sparkles, this lipstick also keeps lips hydrated. I again, gotta give a shout out to the cool snakeskin accented packaging! Ssssssnazzy!

Be Good to Your Brows

If the eyes are the window to your soul, then your eyebrows are surely the decorative curtains.

Hey now! Don't you roll those windows at me!

If you're like the majority of women who've overplucked or are just overwhelmed or confused by how to even tackle your brows, here are some helpful how-to's from Umbreen Sheikh, founder of Wink Brow Bar in Manhattan.

- Start off with a guideline.  I recommend going to a brow specialist in your area or your favorite cosmetics counter to mark up your official brow lines.  They will help to measure the shape of your natural brow which will then act as your dotted line to maintaining the shape.

- Once the shape is complete, follow the guidelines to fill in brows and extend the natural lines.  Be mindful to those "stray" hairs that fall within the dotted lines because yes, it may look like a "stray", but if its within the natural lines, it belongs there. Put the Tweezer down!

- Create a shadow behind the hairs by using a brow powder to create the appearance of thick and bold brows.  Brow Powders are easiest for beginners because you can build up the color, versus drawing it on.  Try out the Wink Brows to Go Quad that includes a contour shade, an overall fill in shade, a highlighter and a brow wax.  Leave the brow pencil to the professional because harsh filling in can age you dramatically.

- Finally, finish off with a brow wax.  Consider this "hairspray" for your brows to keep them in place all day long.  This brow wax helps hold down hairs and push them closer to the skin, resulting in the appearance of thicker, more full, brows.

I myself have found powders provide a more natural look than pencils. One last tip I also might add? Make sure you use a clean spooly or old toothbrush to brush out and set the powder before you use the wax. It results in a full yet still natural looking brows that will surely give Cara Delevingne a run for her money!

A Tale of Two Pretties

How do you like your skin? Matte and fresh? Or glowy and bright?

With the following two new complexion perfectors, it's easy to achieve the look that floats your beauty boat.

THE PRODUCT: Korres Pomegranate Mattifying Primer

THE SPIN:  This lightweight creme evens out skin tone, minimizes the appearance of pores and provides long-lasting make-up application. Its pomegranate extract is an effective antioxidant known for decreasing the appearance of pores.
THE DEAL: Yes! Yes! Yes! This primer is the certainly the real deal. On a most humid morning, I gave it a whirl and it awesomely kept my skin looking snazzy and pore free all day. It blends super evenly to create a nice thin layer on skin and smells fantastic too.
THE GET: Korres Pomegranate Mattifying Primer, $33, available at korres.com

THE PRODUCT: Gerard Cosmetics by Whitening Lightning's New BB Plus+ Illumination Facial Creme

THE SPIN: From the folks that brought us the amazing Whitening Lightning Super Booster Pen, this versatile new offering is formulated with light reflecting particles and golden shimmer and undertones to create a youthful, lit-from-within glow.
THE DEAL: You guys, I am mad digging this creme. I use it over a light layer of foundation as its easy to blend, comfortable to wear and hydrates my skin while masking imperfections. It totally gives me that elusive "pregnancy glow" even when I'm running on zero hours of sleep (thanks heartburn and bladder pressure!).

Yoohoo! Let's talk about your hoohoo.

No, seriously. We're going to talk about our hoohoos.

If you're steuggling with this topic, you're not alone...my spell check almost refused to allow me to use the word "hoohoo"! With some gentle coercing, my iPad is on board, so am hoping you will be too!

Healthy Hoohoo is a Seatle based company, bringing gentle feminine wash, wipes, and foaming cleanser to down-unders (that one was another auto correct battle!) near you! I tested Hoohoo's wipes and cleanser on my own lady parts (not that I needed them...don't get it twisted) and must declare that I'd much prefer the clean and simple scent of Hoohoo products on my Amelia Bedelia than the other fruity, flowery, grandmotherly vag scents out there (not that I would know what those smell like anyway...)!

Not only are Hoohoo baby-maker products gentle, fragrance free, and animal cruelty free, they are also invested in educating those of the female persuasion about proper care of their gennies! I say "woohoo!" and recommend Hoohoo to you-you and your noo-noo!

The Pits: A New Age Love Story

Look, I know that natural and green products are growing ever chic-er, but I still consider natural deodorants a thing of Deadheads and other assorted variants of hippie.

And for that, I now must apologize. Because not only is Lavanila Laboratories The Healthy Deodorant 100% natural and aluminum and paraben free, it's also sophisticated, nourishing and by golly, it really works!

I really thought I would try this product once and toss aside, but I've been enjoying it on the regular. The pure vanilla scent is fresh, not sweet, it glides on smooth, and I feel like it even kept me pretty dry for just a deodorant. My only qualm? It's not an invisible solid. So sadly I will not be able to rock it on tank top days, but for all the other times in between, I'll be reaching for this hard-working, all natural underarm odor protector.

Lavanila Laboratories The Healthy Deodorant retails for $14 and can be purchased at www.lavanila.com. Available scents include Vanilla Lavender, Pure Vanilla, Vanilla Grapefruit, Vanilla Coconut and Fresh Vanilla Lemon.

Bring on Summer Baby!

It's finally somewhat warm and somewhat sunny! Sandals and beach trips are surely but a few short weeks away!

I don't know about you, but when the weather changes, my makeup game also gets antsy. And this season, I am relying on some tangerine dreams, an industry favorite and one amazing new kid on the beauty block.

Sephora Orange Pop blush: This looks a little bright in the pot, but once applied, gives a light, flattering, long lasting pop to cheeks. I was relying on rosy pink for so long and this provides a much needed, yet still natural jolt.

Deborah Lippmann Nail Lacquer in Girls Just Want to Have Fun: I saw this color and had to have it. It's punchy, it's fun and it lasts. Lippmann's colors always go on smooth, opaque and are never clumpy. DEFINITELY worth the higher price tag!

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat: Loved by models, celebs, editors and makeup artists everywhere, this luminizing pen "brings light and radiance to the skin."  I have been without this gem for some time- hey, it's a bit difficult to justify the price tag- but I forgot how worth it it is. You really can SEE the difference. I was feeling and looking a bit tired (pregnancy problems!) and just a little swipe under the eyes after concealer changes the game. I even had a co-worker comment on how fresh I looked! Money well spent if you ask me.

Smashbox Full Exposure Waterproof Mascara: This new mascara offering is the JAM. I wasn't used to such a large brush, but once I figured out how to work with it (Tilt head all the way back! Start with the tip!), I loved the long, non clumpy, dramatic lashes it left me. Plus, it didn't even smear an inch after a good cry (again, pregnancy problems!). My new summer lash staple indeed.

Naturally Amazing

My first thought upon opening the package containing my little OSEA Blemish Balm samples?

My GOD THIS STUFF SMELLS GOOD.

Like you just waltzed into the lushest, poshest, most amazingest spa.

The whole OSEA line features products that support the skin's natural health and beauty and are designed with ingredient-conscious skincare consumers in mind. That means the highest quality, naturally-sourced skincare that is vegan, gluten-free and biodegradable.

The OSEA commitment in and of itself is commendable, but the proof is truly in the pudding of its Blemish Balm. This rich silky cream is a daily ultra-light antiseptic moisturizer dedicated to controlling shine and preventing breakouts.

My interest in it was piqued because as a current preggo (that's pregnant woman yo!), I am not able to use my usual retinols and other complexion helpers. The OSEA Blemish Balm was designed as a natural alternative to these harsher chemicals and aids in reducing inflammation and preventing breakouts. It also features seaweed, Cypress, Juniper and Rosemary, essential oils known for their anti-bacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties.

I used the Blemish Balm 2-3 times a week and found it really helped reduce redness and even helped keep any sort of breakout in check. Plus, did I mention it smells like heaven? Seriously. HEAVEN. I am officially obsessed.

Get some OSEA Blemish Balm and experience the lovliness for yourself at oseamalibu.com

It's About Thyme! (Sorry I Couldn't Resist)

Searching for a last-minute Mother's Day gift?

Thymes Studio Collection is an adorable tin packed with amazing scents any sophisticated mama is sure to love.

Aqua Coralline: Imagine bamboo leaves, crisp driftwood, pure waterlily and white cyclamen all mixed together in a bowl... Yeah, I had no idea what that would smell like either, until I tried this fragrance—a fresh, sparkler perfect for every day.

Jade Matcha: At first I was nervous about this one because it went on a little spicy. But it settled in to be SUCH an all-around lovely scent, I couldn't get enough of it!

Kimono Rose: I tried this in the cologne spray sample as well as the rollerball version. The latter I felt didn't last very long on the skin, but the cologne sampler spray was a nice pretty powder that lingered.

Lotus Santal: Super sexy, yet classy, light and down-to-earth. This is my new summer date night pick! (That is, if summer ever gets here! Huff!)

Rosewood Citron: A little sweet, a little girly— definitely the most femme offering.

Tiare Monoi: Nicely bright, but a bit too sweet for my liking.

Thymes fragrances can be found on the company website as well as the finest independent specialty stores nationwide.

Get Grooming with Microtouch

Sometimes we gals forget that dudes have certain grooming rituals that could use some love and expert products. Fortunately Microtouch lent us a few tools to try out. Today's tester? My husband extraordinaire! A rather charming, hairy fellow, who shaves at least 3 times a week for his firefighter/paramedic gig.

Tool #1: Microtouch One metal razor. "For the nostalgic dapper dan, a classic razor that pays homage to the traditional barbershop shave. The single blade leaves your face with a clean and smooth finish."

He says: The handle was too short,  it was not easy to figure out how to use, and I therefore cut myself because of that. I would try using it again if I wanted to take the time. The blades are interesting— super thin and I didn't even realize they were in the small paper packets at first. This product is overall cool looking and has a nice design though.
She says: The blood! Oh the blood! This was a bit painful to watch. This blade comes with specific directions on how to use, with a key statement being to take your time and go slow, as it's a different sort of razor than everyday dudes are used to.
Find it at Onerazor.com

Tool #2: Microtouch Max. "[This] electric trimmer is gentle enough for the most sensitive skin, but still allows for a close shave. With 2 combs, and a built-in light, you can trim all the hair on your face, nose, ears and sideburns.

He says: I love this thing. It's easy to use, it's small and it's narrow ended design makes it easy to get in all those hard to reach places. It also trims hair cleanly without any pulling or pain. The light feature revealed just how badly I needed this thing.
She says: You know your husband loves something when he asks, "I get to keep this?!" after using.

Tool #3: Mircotouch Switchblade. "The All-In-One head to toe groomer is great for in between haircuts, edging beards, the hard to reach ear and nose areas, and even for body hair that needs some touch up.
He says: I like that it has some bulk to it, but I prefer the light feature of the other one (Microtouch Max). It did a nice job trimming the edges of my sideburns.
She says: Along with the Microtouch Max, this seems like another awesome and simple grooming tool every guy could use.

A Fresh Direction

The world of drugstore shower gels and soaps isn't where one would usually go for a "fine fragrance" product, but the new Caress Fresh Collection is totally changing the game.

Developed by experts at the top of fine fragrance houses Givaudan and Firmenich, each of the three new scents is crafted with "sophisticated, multi-layered notes that linger on skin and delight the senses in revitalizing freshness."

Caress Emerald Rush Body Wash and Beauty Bar
-Infused with Lush Gardenia and White Tea Essence
This lovely aqua option smells seriously divine. It's light, pretty and perfect for spring.

Caress Aqua Sparkle Body Wash
-Infused with Lilac Blossom and Aquamarine Essence
I am totally diggin' this invigorating scent. It's floral yet fresh, and really revives my sleepy self in the morning.

Caress Juicy Escape Body Wash
-Infused with Sun Kissed Lily and Pink Grapefruit Essence
This is my current favorite even though I usually do not go for fruity scents. I love how the tangy grapefruit is balanced by the fresh lily—totally classy yet playful.

Plus, as we previously posted, Kelly Rowland has joined Caress as their newest Fabulista and is inviting women everywhere to put a fresh & fabulous spin on your every day. Help her and us spread the word by tagging @Caress and using #CaressMe now!

The NEW Caress Fresh Collection body washes and beauty bar are available at food, drug and mass retailers nationwide.

Facial Face Off!

This week, I sampled two face masks: Biore's Self Heating One Minute Mask and Perfective Cuticals' Devine Brightening Mask. It's convenience versus luxury, drug store steal versus department store splurge, simplicity versus complexity. It's on!

I have to admit, I went into this experiment totally biased. When I think of Biore, I have unfortunate instant flash backs to middle school, ripping my nose flesh off in an attempt to clear black heads with those awful strips of the devil. I was pleasantly surprised with this mask in that it does what it says it will do: it opens your pores and leaves your skin feeling fresh. Point Biore! Now, my daily face wash does the same thing, so I am not sure if I'd really make this product part of my routine; however this mask can certainly not be counted out of the battle! I found this stuff at a drugstore for $7.99! Point Biore!

Onto a fancier pair of pants, Perfective Cuticals. I was instantly digging the recipe here: licorice extract, mulberry root, vitis vinifera seed ( I have no idea what that is, but I want it on my face!), and rosa cania fruit extract. Point Perfective Cuticals! Guys: this. Stuff. Is. Amahhhhhzing. (That's Fancy for amazing) No joke, my skin tingled to the touch of this infused paper mask as if fairy dust were being sprinkled upon it! Afterward, I had a really nice glow to my skin. I can only imagine what might come of regular use with this gem! Two points Perfective Cuticals! This lovely face treat comes in a 5 pack for $39 and can be found at www.perfectivecuticals.com

The winner by a nose..er...entire face..is: Perfective Cuticals!,

Treat Your Feet

It's spring! Are you tootsies sandal ready?!

Mine sure weren't, especially after an awesomely fun and walktastic trip to NYC a few weeks ago. To remedy my sad, rough old soles I turned to Zim's Crack Creme for Heels & Feet.

#1) Pretty much has one of the top ten best names ever.
#2) Is a natural herbal formula featuring aginine, arnica and aloe.
#3) Applied after a quick sweep with a pumice stone post-shower, my feet were seriously softer after just a few days.

One caveat: This is no fancy smelling beauty lotion ladies. The fragrance is fairly medical/Icy Hot-y. If you are scent-sensitive, my suggestion would be to apply at night and put on some cozy socks. In the morning, you'll surely be pleasantly surprised by the pedi-improvement.

Another warm weather essential is Zim's Max-Freeze Continuous Spray for Feet, a topical pain relief agent for soothing achy feet, joints, and sore muscles. This super spray is greaseless, fact acting, paraben- and stain-free and also doesn't leave a lasting odor. It does have a menthol-y quality to it at first, but settles nicely and definitely comes in handy after a long day of fun city shopping.

Zim's Crack Creme is available at Amazon, Drugstore.com, Walgreens.com and more.

Zim's Max-Freeze Continuous Spray for Feet can be found at CVS, Meijer and Walgreens

Smart Skin

As Spring Break 2K14 quickly approaches, many beauties are thinking about crop tops and bikini bods, in preparation for a sun bound adventure. A brainy beauty should also be thinking about her skin while prepping for Cabo (and year-round, actually)!

SPF is a MUST MUST MUST my friends! Not go all Mommy on you, but this year's hot tan could mean some serious skin damage (or worse!) a few years from now, so lather up. Okay, lecture over.

What I'm excited about is Curel's Intensive Healing Cream, a fragrance free, immediate healing relief cream! This advanced ceramide therapy (aka: heaven in a jar) is for daily use and sensitive skin, so lather up before you strip down and after each long day, whether it is poolside or office bound. Think of this goo as a tall, ice cold drink of water for your thirsty skin. So, drink up and be safe, Spring Breakers!

An Unforgettable Moment

Oh Krigler! What you do to me! Every scent you offer is a magical, delicious bouquet! Every time I open a new bottle I am transported and delighted! And your new Krigler Lieber Moment 2 14 is no different!

Lieber Moment 2 14 is a new "romantic, nostalgic fragrance that pays homage to Krigler's Leiber Gustav 14, an early Krigler fragrance inspired by a love letter from World War One," and one of my personal fragrance obsessions.

This new scent is actually unisex, a first for Krigler, and is smoother and more powdery than the original Lieber Gustav 14. It features sparking Mongolian Grapefruit, calming Lavendar, Rose from Italy, woody White Musk, vanilla from Reunion Island and Patchouli from the Philippines, among others.

The result is truly sensual, luxurious and can be easily worn by a guy or gal looking for that unique, sexy scent.

Lieber Moment 2 14 retails at $195 for 1.7fl. oz.; $285 for 3.4fl. oz.

Krigler fragrances can be purchased online, or at The Plaza Hotel, One West 58th Street, New York City, NY.

Crazy in Love!

If we can't look like her, sing like her, dance like her, or dress like her, we might as well smell like her, right?? Beyonce's new frangrance Rise, inspired by the works of her favorite poet, Maya Angelou was launched in February and is said to embody Beyonce's on stage persona.

I found Rise to be a natural scent, with both fruit and floral notes. Rise is a very bold perfume, which I find fitting, since the inspiration comes from such a strong woman and artist. Pretty bottle, pretty scent, pretty awesome.

Don't Sweat It- Swipe It!

I had been saving my try out of Swipe Travel Deodorant for my first foray back to the gym/yoga. But well, sometimes I work late... And have plans with friends and family... and really want to read the latest InStyle magazine.

But fate intervened over the weekend when we had a plumbing issue that resulted in our shower/tub being down for the count all day. So around 3pm (what? I was working on an important project!) I pulled out a little Swipe packet, and opened it up. A quick little once over left me feeling a heck of a lot fresher and truly fresher smelling- The initial baby-wipe scent leaves a more sophisticated tea-like aroma on skin.

Thankfully our plumbing problems have been fixed and I can now shower freely again, but I definitely see the merits of holding onto a few Swipes for future traveling and work out (ha!) purposes.

Purchase your own Swipe Deodorant Wipe packets for $2.99-$24.99 at www.swipe-it.net/

Well (Lip) Color Me Surprised!

You guys, I think N.Y.C. New York Color has done it—I think they might have actually, truly almost converted me to a lip color girl!
I have officially been alternating between their new Smooch Proof 16HR Lip Stain in 498 Berry Long Time and 504 Orange On The Go for the past three days straight. Three days of lip color other than chapstick!?! UNHEARD OF.
Maybe it was the sunny, 40 degree weekend that inspired me to freshen up. Or perhaps I'm just sick of hoarding eye make-up remover as though it's holy water. But on Saturday morning I curiously unwrapped 498 B.L.T. (ha), pulled off the cap and went to town using the marker-esque felt tip to apply the lovely raspberry stain. It felt icy and cool and left me feeling seriously chic in the simplest way.
Then, in an unprecedented move, I decided to build my entire make-up look around it the following morning for an important day out with my boo. And today, I donned 504 O.O.T.G. for work, a fun yet subtle creamsicle-y hue. Me. Lip color. For work. And orange at that! My mother will hardly believe it when I stop over later.

N.Y.C. New York Color Smooch Proof 16HR Lip Stain is available in 13 shades for just $4.99 each at drugstores nationwide.

Get Enlightened: GE Reveal Light Bulbs

Interior design experts hail a can of paint as a simple way to completely change the look of any space, but I’m here to tell ya just switching to GE’s new reveal® light bulbs will blow your mind!

GE reveal® bulbs are designed to replace your usual yellow, dingy bulbs with crisp white light that makes colors and patterns pop. They even have reveal® LED bulbs that offer the same aesthetic benefits of the rest of the reveal® brand while providing energy efficiency made to last a decade based on three hours of daily usage.

We were graciously passed along a pack of 75w Halogen reveal® bulbs to literally see the difference for ourselves. I had purchased a cool globe light fixture from the thrift store a while back and I knew it would be perfect for my guest bedroom. Any sort of lighting would be a step up from the crusty basic bulbs that were currently there! I also added a GE reveal® bulb to the side table lamp for easier guest reading.

The before, entire room: There’s a whole lotta “meh” happening here.
The before, a close up: Couldn’t get much worse than this!
The after, the entire room: With some much needed pizazz. Notice how the blue walls look so much brighter and cleaner.
The after, a close up: Like a glorious bright full moon!

GE reveal® bulbs are an amazing, and best of all, easy way to really change the look and feel of any space in your home. I am totally in love with how my guest bedroom turned out and know it wouldn't be half as lovely without GE's help.
You don't have to take my word for it though—Check out GE reveal® Presents: A Tastemaker Show & Tell on Lighting + Craft.
View the full GE reveal® product line-up at gelighting.com.
GE reveal® bulbs can also be purchased at your local Target store as well as target.com and the Target Cartwheel App.

A True Sanctuary

We have a special guest post today BrainyBeautys—

My wonderfully beautiful and game sister, Christine, gave Sanctuary Spa Facial Youth Boosting Facial in a Box Kit a whirl. Sanctuary Spa is the UK's number one day spa, and specially designed this "revolutionary" facial to include all the steps carried out in a professional spa treatment in order to deliver visibly firmer and plumper skin at home. The treatment includes a single sample of products found within Sanctuary Spa's Youth Boosting skincare range that when used together, enhance the other's skin boosting qualities.

Christine's insightful review is as follows!
The before

Step 1- Warming Exfoliator/Scrub: This had a clean fresh scent and provided a warming, relaxing sensation when rubbing in. Although it was sticky upon application, I definitely noticed smooth, softer skin after washing off.
Warming scrub doing it's warming thing.

Step 2 - Time Renewal Mask: Cooling, with a pleasant fresh lemony scent. I experienced a tingling sensation after a few minutes on my face and found it to be very hydrating. The instructions also call for you to put the entire contents of the mask on your face, but that felt like it was too much and maybe a waste.
Mask-tastic!

Step 3 - Serum: A little goes a long way here! It was very hydrating and smoothing, but also unfortunately a bit gross smelling... kinda like a sweaty locker room. Yuck! Although perhaps small price to pay for beauty?
Looking good there!

Step 4 - Lift and Brighten Eye Cream: The eye cream had a Vaseline like consistency, and went on smooth. I focused only on the crows feet and under eye area and found it to be especially cooling on the eye area. Again, a bit of an odd smell... not bad, not good, just odd.
The eyes have it—do they seem brighter to you too?

Step 5 - Night Concentrate: Ahhh! The concentrate features a fresh, clean lemony scent and was very hydrating. Not at all greasy which was awesome.

Ta-dah!!! The final outcome: Hydrated and loving it.

Final verdict? Overall, the mask was my favorite. I could definitely notice a difference in the hydration of my skin throughout the day. I usually have very dry skin, so it was nice to notice the hydration. Not sure of the price, but I'm sure it's much cheaper than getting an actual facial at the spa with probably similar results. I've only had one spa facial before, but my skin felt similar after doing this at home kit. I would recommend the kit to anyone looking for a little complexion boost- it was easy and fun to use and left my skin feeling great.

Thanks Christine! You rocked it!

Sanctuary Spa Youth Boosting Facial in a Box is priced at $39, and can be purchased through QVC and www.QVC.com

Our take: This blue goo totally delivers and gives just the right amount of definition to roughed out, bed head-y hair. One caveat of note: it is a bit drippy, so exercise a bit of caution when opening.

Catwalk by TIGI Straight Collection Sleek Mystique Blow Out Balm: Prep hair before blow drying for touchable, glossy hair without losing volume. Silk and soy combine with a blend of dragon fruit and bamboo to give your straight style lasting hydration.

Our take: Wowza! Our at-home blowout never looked or felt glossier! All it took was one pump of the seemingly glitter-flecked goodness too. A total winner.

Catwalk by TIGI Session Series Salt Spray: Explore that casual cool, model off duty side with a spray that promises texture, body, volume and light, pliable hold.

Our take: Hands-down FAVORITE! I am always on the hunt for a sea salt spray that actually delivers piece-y texture to my fine locks. Most products give some sort of texture and rough lift at first, but I’ve always found myself disappointed by the time I got to work. This is the spray I’ve been searching for. I love it love it love it. Sold for life!

Bed Head by TIGI Hard Head Hairspray: Get a hairspray that can withstand the test of time on the most outrageous styles. Dries instantly and the more you spray, the more it holds.

Our take: Definitely the ideal product for mastering a hard-to-hold style. I also found it a nice finishing touch after using the Sea Salt Spray. If you’re going for hold and shine though, I might look elsewhere, as this is more for gravity-defying bold styles.

TIGI products might seem a bit pricey, but the quality is more than worth it and they’ll last you for months. Oh, and did I also mention that each of these smells absolutely, positively, wonderfully DIVINE? Trust me when I tell you, TIGI is where it’s at!
